ACLS Renewal

NOTE: FOR CURRENTLY CERTIFIED ACLS PROVIDERS, WITH NON-EXPIRED CERTIFICATIONS.

Description (ACLS Renewal): The ACLS Renewal Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of pre-arrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke.

Audience: Personnel staffing emergency, intensive care or critical care departments; emergency medical providers such as Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

Prerequisites: Competency with the 2020 AHA Basic Life Support science, and a completed MANDATORY ACLS pre-test (scoring a minimum of an 70%).

Textbook Information: (UPDATED ON 07/25/2022 - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY) Due to changes in the AHA's e-textbook library policy/procedures, we are no longer able to offer e-textbook access to our AHA students. As of Monday, 07/25/2022, any student who registers for an AHA class here at Crozer's AHA Training Center, MUST purchase their own AHA textbook(s) for those classes/disciplines that they will/have registered for. You MUST present the discipline specific textbook that you have purchased during the registration process at the start of your scheduled AHA class here at Crozer. AHA policy states that you must have access to the discipline specific textbook (for the class that you are taking) before, during, and following your course. The only way to ensure that this policy is met is to require all AHA students to present the discipline specific textbook that they have purchased for their course. As a result, if you present to an AHA class here at Crozer after on/after 08/01/22 without a copy of the (current) discipline specific AHA textbook, you will NOT be admitted into the course.

**This change in policy/procedure has been added to our 'Terms and Conditions' that you must agree to / acknowledge prior to registering for any AHA course here at Crozer's AHA Training Center.

MANDATORY Pre-Test Information: Every student attending an ACLS class at Crozer Health's AHA Training Center is required to complete a pre-test PRIOR to arrival at class. After registering for an ACLS course, you will receive a confirmation email (to the email address that you used when registering) that includes information on how to complete your pre-test. You will be required to present a PRINTED copy of your ACLS pre-test results (confirming a minimum score of 70%) on the day of class, PRIOR to the start of the course.

Note: You will not be permited access into the class without a PRINTED copy of your pre-test results. NO EXCEPTIONS.
